Whole

By: Dana Miracle

You weren’t the one who had to stay,
but you showed up anyway.
When life was heavy, cold, and rough,
your love stepped in — and that was enough.

You didn’t owe me all you gave,
you built me strong, you made me brave.
Through broken starts and tear-stained nights,
you turned my darkness into light.

You’re my blood, but even more,
you’re the heart I’m grateful for.
Uncle by name, but that’s not all —
My chosen dad.
The man who caught my fall.

You taught me what a dad should be,
through quiet strength and loyalty.
Not by chance, but by your choice,
you gave my world a steady voice.

You work so hard, you give, provide,
you hold my world with quiet pride.
And though you never had to try,
you’ve been my blessing from the sky.

Not by chance, but by God’s plan,
He made you more than any man.

You loved me hard, you loved me true,
in ways no words can quite undo.
You stitched the cracks inside my soul,
and made my shattered pieces whole.

So on this day, I hope you know,
how deeply all your love still shows.
You didn’t just care — you became my dad,
the best I could’ve ever had.
